Kirkens Korshær's homeless centre

Copenhagen, Denmark
23 February 2017

Last fall EA-HR was responsible for installing 40 beds in Kirkens Korshær’s homeless centre in Copenhagen (you can read more about that project here).

It is safe to say that the resting hall has turned out to be a great success. The beds are used by up to 80 homeless migrants without registration for resting during the day. Some take a short nap whereas some sleep from when the homeless centre opens at 9.00 in the morning until it closes at 15.00 in the afternoon.

These past months, at EA-HR, we have continued our collaboration with Kirkens Korshær in a broad project that seeks to empower the homeless migrants by simultaneously reaching out to the local community.

The aim of the project is to establish a recreative area on Kirkens Korshær’s unused ground where the homeless migrants as well as the neighbors of the area can get access to a repair workshop, a sewing workshop, an outdoor oven, a sauna and many other things.

We will keep you updated on how the project progresses.
